In the new millennium there has been a struggle amongst younger people to find meaning and satisfaction in a world that is increasingly hostile. Statistics have shown a move away from traditional organized religions to more individual forms of spirituality. People are looking in new places for guidance and comfort. Can fandom be one of those places?
